Lydia Ko WDs from the opening event of the LPGA Tour 2023  

The world's number 1 female golfer is currently on her honeymoon with her husband, Chung Jun. The couple just held their wedding ceremony on December 30, 2022 in Seoul, South Korea.

The 2023 LPGA season will kick off with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions taking place in late January at Lake Nona. The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. ET on January 10. According to sources from Golfweek, Lydia Ko is not on the registered list.

Meanwhile, Aramco Saudi Ladies International - the opening event of the calendar year 2023 of the Ladies European Tour, has confirmed Lydia Ko will compete in mid-February. Aramco Saudi Ladies International's bonus fund has reached a record value. 5 million USD, up from 1 million USD in 2022. This is the largest prize fund in the history of the Ladies European Tour, excluding specialized tournaments.

Aramco Saudi Ladies International will take place at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, Saudi Arabia from February 16-19, ahead of the LPGA Asia region with stops in Thailand, Singapore and China.

Lydia Ko has won three titles in 2022, including the CME Group Tour Championship in November and once again reclaimed the world No. She married her fiancé Jun Chung, the youngest son of vice president of Hyundai Card, a financial subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Corporation, at Myeongdong Church in Seoul, South Korea on December 30, 2022. Maybe the Saudi event will be her first field in 2023.

“I really miss my time at Aramco Saudi Ladies International,” Ko said in a statement. “I won the title here a few years ago. I look forward to returning to Saudi Arabia.”

Aramco Saudi Ladies International 2023 will have 120 golfers participating, including 60 LET players and 50 people in the top 300 Rolex Ranking and up to 10 golfers invited by sponsors. The winner will receive 750,000 USD.

In addition to Aramco Saudi Ladies International, the LET 2023 schedule also features the Aramco Team Series, which includes five Saudi-backed events, held globally.
