Tennessee's An Le Chuc has been named the SEC women's golf Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Chuc earned a top-10 finish in her collegiate debut, helping the Lady Vols to a season-opening runner-up team finish at the Cougar Classic.

After beginning the event with a 1-over-par 72 in round one, Chuc closed strong with a 3-under-par 68 in round two and an even-par 71 in round three. With a 54-hole score of 2-under-par, her ninth-place finish was the second highest among the five Lady Vols in the lineup at the Cougar Classic.

The Vietnam native carded 11 birdies to just nine bogeys across three rounds without a single double-bogey or worse. Her second-round 68 marked the second-best round by a Lady Vol in the event.

The lone freshman in Tennessee's lineup to open the season, Chuc is poised to continue making an impact for the Lady Vols as a freshman.

Tennessee will return to action at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, Sept. 21-22 at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario.
