The Dàlat at 1200 Focuses on Agricultural and Environmental Sustainability

The Dàlat at 1200 Country Club & Private Estate planted their second rice paddy on the ever-growing property in continued pursuit towards renewable agricultural and environmental sustainability.

Located southeast of the Club House and next to fairway 14, the new 28,000 square-metre rice paddies are sure to contribute to the Private Estate’s passion for organic, farm-to-table freshness. The new paddies are tended by local farmers, where The Dàlat at 1200 continues its initiative to foster support for those living near the estate.

“There are some things money cannot buy,” said Mr Tang Kay Hwa, Executive Director of The Dàlat at 1200. “You can’t buy fresh air but you can buy property in a stunning setting that freely provides fresh air and organic food. Where climate change and food safety are two of the largest concerns in the world today, our holistic concept, as envisioned by Centurion Group, helps elevate The Dàlat at 1200 to a world-class private resort.”

Resort

In the short term, rice paddies require water or flooding almost constantly, but will start to show growth within the first week. Within four months the rice paddy will be mature enough for cultivation. While, in the longer term, the fields use little water and are an excellent and efficient way to circulate water as they help to regulate flood water and replenish groundwater. Further, rice paddies beautify the property, purify water, regulate the temperature and generate more oxygen.

In a continued effort to manage resources responsibly, The Dàlat at 1200 has created an additional 200,000 cubic metres of water storage and catchment to provide sustainable water resources for recycling, storage and use throughout the resort. This equates to more than 750,000 cubic litres of water capacity.

“We take special care to maintain environmental awareness of our surroundings,” said General Manager David Hill. “By adding two new rice paddies and expanding our water storage to more than 750,000 cubic metres, we are further ensuring that our project continues to set the standard and remains a leader in environmental protection in Vietnam.”
