A Memorable Day at New World Phu Quoc Resort

Following the first stop on their journey across Vietnam’s Pearl Island, the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards judging panel continued to New World Phu Quoc Resort. Located on Kem Beach, one of Phu Quoc’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, the resort introduced an entirely different pace of life: slower, more intimate and perfectly suited to allowing each guest to enjoy the holiday in their own way.
As one of Phu Quoc’s largest villa resorts, with more than 300 villas and the capacity to accommodate over 2,000 guests at a time, New World Phu Quoc Resort is impressive in scale. Yet the first thing that captures the attention is not the numbers. It is the greenery that extends throughout the property, from rows of coconut palms swaying in the sea breeze and carefully maintained lawns to tree-shaded pathways leading to each cluster of villas. Despite its considerable size, the resort maintains a sense of openness and privacy, making life seem to slow down from the moment guests arrive.

The delegation stayed in two three-bedroom villas, each featuring a private swimming pool and a spacious communal living area. Unlike a conventional hotel room, each villa feels like a private holiday home, where guests can gather after a full day of activities, chat beside the pool or unwind in a light-filled living room. These simple, everyday moments create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, particularly for families or groups of golfers travelling together.

A Culinary Highlight
If one experience were to be chosen as the highlight of the second day, it would undoubtedly be the cuisine. Dinner was served outdoors beside the shores of Kem Beach, as the fading sunset gave way to the sound of the waves and the cool sea breeze. The setting was arranged with just enough sophistication to retain a sense of elegance while remaining relaxed, allowing everyone to fully embrace the resort atmosphere.

Fresh seafood was skilfully prepared to enhance its natural flavours rather than being overshadowed by overly elaborate techniques. Every dish reflected careful attention, from the selection of ingredients to the presentation. As a result, dinner became more than a culinary experience; it also provided an opportunity for members of the delegation to connect and share their impressions after a full day of site inspections.

The following morning, the breakfast buffet continued to make a positive impression with its extensive selection, harmoniously combining Vietnamese and international cuisine. Fresh ingredients and carefully prepared dishes were evident throughout. One small but memorable detail was the rich flavour of the free-range eggs, which several members of the delegation mentioned. It demonstrated how the resort’s attention to quality begins with even the simplest ingredients.
An Ideal Stop for a Golf Holiday
During the stay, the resort’s management team took the time to meet and speak with the delegation in an open and friendly atmosphere. The attentiveness of the management and the thoughtful organisation of the visit ensured a complete and enjoyable experience without ever feeling excessive or ostentatious.
For golfers, New World Phu Quoc Resort offers the additional advantage of the Kem Beach Driving Range, enabling players to maintain their swing during their holiday. Combined with convenient access to Eschuri Vung Bau Golf, the resort presents an appealing stay-and-play option. Golfers can pursue their passion on the course, while their families enjoy the resort’s spacious surroundings, beautiful beach and wide range of facilities on Vietnam’s Pearl Island.
Upon leaving New World Phu Quoc Resort, what remained most memorable was not the scale of its hundreds of villas or its modern amenities, but the sense of comfort created by a resort that has been thoughtfully cared for. The lush surroundings, spacious villas, carefully prepared meals and warm hospitality of the operating team came together to create an experience refined enough to remain in the memory.

The first-hand experiences at New World Phu Quoc Resort also gave the judging panel a more comprehensive perspective when assessing tourism and hospitality products designed for the golfing community. Outstanding organisations will be honoured at the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards ceremony, taking place on 15 September at Grand Plaza Hanoi, with a wide range of award categories covering golf, tourism and hospitality.
Beyond recognising exceptional destinations, the awards also celebrate the models and initiatives that are helping to strengthen Vietnam’s overall leisure ecosystem for golfers and their families.
