Vietnam Golf 2023: Junior golfers have many new arena

2023 promises to be a breakthrough year for young Vietnamese golf when there are many new playgrounds for children and teenagers - where they have the opportunity to rub and gain experience.

In early 2023, Vietnamese youth golf will kick off with the event Thang Long Junior Master 2023 organized by Thang Long Junior Golf Club. The event takes place from January 6 to January 8, 2023 at Yen Bai Star Golf Course, Yen Bai.

The event will have the participation of 60 golfers, competing in 5 groups by age and gender, with U21 Men (from 16-21 years old), U15 Men (13-15 years old), U12 Men and Women (10-12 years old), U9 and Women's division (13-21 years old). The tournament has the presence of many talented young golfers, including Nguyen Anh Minh - the champion of Vietnam Junior Open 2022.

Thang Long Junior Master 2023 is an opportunity for young Vietnamese golfers to be registered in the world amateur rankings

The tournament is played in a 54-hole format without handicap (these are two of the conditions that the R&A offers to rank a tournament), something that previous youth tournaments have not been able to do.

Sponsored by the Vietnam Golf Association and has the opportunity to be ranked in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Thang Long Junior Masters promises to be a playground for young Vietnamese golfers to break through in 2023. World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) was launched in 2007, many of the top professional golfers such as Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth, Lydia Ko used to hold the No.1.

By the end of 2022, Vietnam has a total of 9 golfers registered on WAGR including: Nguyen Anh Minh, Nguyen Dang Minh, Nguyen Quang Tri, Nguyen Nhat Long, Le Khanh Hung, Do Quang Khanh, Hanako Kawasaki, Doan Xuan Khue Minh, Le Chuc An.

According to the schedule of the Vietnam Golf Association, in addition to the traditional Vietnam Open Youth Championship in July, there will be 8 more tournaments under the VGA Junior Tour system for teenage golfers - child. The tournaments are held alternately in 3 regions of North - Central - South, spread from March to December with different competition formats and have their own scoring system.

In addition, young golfers also have the opportunity to learn, rub and gain experience in many professional VGA Tour tournaments and tournaments in seven events of the Vietnam Amateur Series (including Men's, Women's, and Junior's Championships). extend).

It can be said that this is a huge change in promoting the development of young golf by the Vietnam Golf Association. With proper attention to the future generation of golf, Vietnamese golf will soon break through and compete with the world golf.
