[INSPECT THE SOUTHERN GOLF] Day 15: LONG THANH GOLF CLUB - The Green Jewel of Southeast Vietnam  02:25, 06/08/2026

Continuing their inspection tour in southern Vietnam, the judging panel of the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards 2026 visited Long Thanh Golf Club, located approximately 25 kilometers from downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

From the moment they arrived, the judges were greeted by the unmistakable character of a classic parkland course. Mature rows of coconut palms and royal palms line the internal roads and weave between fairways, creating a cool, tranquil atmosphere despite the region's tropical heat. This lush landscape, cultivated over many years, has become one of Long Thanh's defining features and continues to attract generations of golfers.

Designed by renowned golf course architect Ron Fream, Long Thanh Golf Club blends natural terrain with lakes, strategically placed bunkers and mature vegetation. The routing offers a varied rhythm throughout the round, presenting golfers with different strategic challenges while maintaining a balanced and enjoyable playing experience.

The club features two distinct 18-hole layouts. Hill Course makes full use of gently rolling terrain, with fairways winding through palm-lined corridors, natural elevation changes and water features. Lake Course, by contrast, is defined by its abundance of water hazards, requiring thoughtful club selection and careful course management on nearly every hole. Although each course offers a different style of play, both make effective use of the site's natural characteristics to create engaging and memorable challenges.

According to Oh Sang Jun, a member of the International Judging Panel: "Long Thanh Golf Club is built upon a solid design foundation that makes excellent use of the natural terrain. Each hole presents its own strategic demands, while features such as natural depressions and lakes create variety throughout the round. There is also room to further refine the fairway and greenside bunkers to add greater strategic depth and enhance the course's visual appeal."

Beyond its course design, Long Thanh also impressed the judging panel with its operational standards. Playing conditions were consistently well maintained, while an experienced caddie team provided knowledgeable support throughout the round, contributing to an enjoyable golfing experience.

In addition to serving daily golfers, Long Thanh Golf Club regularly hosts amateur tournaments and community golf events. These activities have helped sustain the club's vibrant atmosphere while reinforcing its status as one of southern Vietnam's most established golfing destinations.

As the inspection concluded, the judging panel regarded Long Thanh Golf Club as a course that has gracefully matured over time. Its enduring appeal lies not only in its verdant landscape, but also in the consistency of its maintenance, the professionalism of its operations and the people who have helped preserve its unique identity throughout more than 20 years of development.
