Nguyen Anh Minh missed the opportunity to break a personal record at Thang Long Junior Master 2023

Thang Long Junior Master 2023 is a tournament for young Vietnamese golfers taking place on Yen Bai Star Golf Course.

At the end of the first day of competition on January 6, Nguyen Anh Minh excellently scored 9 birdies and led the tournament with a score of -5 (67 strokes), a 2-stroke difference with Nguyen Dang Minh and Le Khanh Hung - sharing the 2nd place on the leaderboard.

Entering the second round, Anh Minh still had an excellent performance when he ended the day with a score of -8, bringing the total score after the first two rounds to -13, leaving 9 strokes behind the second-ranked Nguyen Dang Minh.

On the second day of competition, Anh Minh continued to surprise with a series of 7 birdies, including 5 birdies in a row from hole 6 to hole 10, along with an eagle on hole 2. Minh also missed many birdie opportunities in situations from 4-5 feet, otherwise his record would have been much better. Young golfer with a bogey on hole 17.

It was this bogey point that caused Anh Minh to miss the opportunity to break his own record on the Yen Bai Star Stadium. A year ago, when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, Anh Minh then had a temporary stay at Yen Bai yard and used to hit -8 sticks here.

Currently, Anh Minh is a bright star at Thang Long Junior Master 2023. With a difference of 9 strokes, he is the brightest candidate for this year's championship.

In the Women's group, Le Thi Thanh Thuy continued to lead with the second round of 77 strokes (+5) of the week. If she continues to achieve this result in the 3rd round, Thanh Thuy will win and be registered in the world amateur rankings.

The second competition day of Thang Long Junior Master 2023 became more crowded with the presence of golfers from groups U12 and U9. Leading U12 group is Nguyen Bao Phat with +4 strokes, U9 group leading is Le Nhat Binh with +13 strokes. Le Khanh Hung with a round of 74 strokes continued to lead the U15 group with a total score of -1.
