After a 314-yard tee-off, Schauffele faced a stroke that approached the flag across the lake to the green. From 226 yards, Schauffele's long iron shot was just enough to put the ball on the green, after landing gently and slowly rolling into the hole to everyone's astonishment. From a distance, he also couldn't believe he had scored an albatross with a probability of 1/6,000,000.
With a 62-stroke bogey free record (-10), including an albatross point on hole 5, Schauffele finished 3rd at American Express 2023 and increased 13 places on the OWGR rankings.
