The world's No. 1 birdie-eagle-birdie hat-trick scored -4 points in just 7 shots in the opening round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2023.

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic event within the framework of the DP World Tour 2023 is taking place at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai. The weather in Dubai doesn't seem to be favoring the golfers. On Thursday the match was stopped due to heavy rain, on Friday the match could not be started on time due to flooding, then was halted because it was too dark. Accordingly, the 2nd round of the event will take place on Saturday, the 3rd round on Sunday and the final round is scheduled for Monday if the weather does not get worse.

Through the first round, two golfers of LIV Golf Richard Bland and Ian Poulter are sharing the top spot with a record of -8. In the unfinished second round, before stopping the match, Bland went through 4 holes with a record of -3, and Poulter went through 3 holes -1.

Meanwhile, world No. 1 Rory McIlroy finished the first round unfinished on Friday morning. Although the weather was not favourable, McIlroy kept in good form with a -6 record, sharing T4 with Louis de Jager and Patrick Reed.

In particular, many fans have described the North Icelandic golfer playing impressively when he scored -4 points in just 7 shots in 3 consecutive holes 7, 8 and 9 with a birdie-eagle-birdie record.
