The Vietnam Amateur Open 2017
With the participation of 120 amateur golfers who own Handicap not to exceed 12 under the USGA Index, The 13th Vietnam Amateur Open 2017 will be the largest and most important amateur tournament in the annual tournament system of Vietnam Golf Association (VGA). At the same time, this is also the most prestigious event of the year for Vietnam golf community since golfers participating in the tournament are the leading names in Vietnamese professional and amateur golf community, along with excellent international amateur golfers from developed golf industries in South East Asia.
Just like the previous years, this year's tournament in addition to amateur golfers, there is a professional table with a total cash prize of 100 million dongs. In addition, as expected, the performance of golfers participating in the VAO 2017 will be the main basis for VGA and General Sports Department of Vietnam to select athletes for the National Men's Golf team to attend Seagames 29 taking place in Malaysia.
Format of Play
The Championship shall be decided by stroke play over four (4) rounds of 18 holes each, subject to the Committee’s right in the event of circumstances which make the playing of 72 holes impracticable, to cancel any round or rounds at its discretion.
There shall be a cut-off 50% (~ 60 players) and ties of final entry after 36 holes of play.
The winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest aggregate GROSS score at the end of the Championship.
RULES OF PLAY
The Rules of Golf and Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Ltd and The USGA, their interpretations as contained in the “Decisions on the Rules of Golf”, this Conditions of Competition, VGA Championship Hard Card 2016 and any additional Conditions of Competition together with the additional Local Rules established by the Tournament Committee for the Competition.
