Taylor partners with GCSAA

Tony Taylor, who is executive director of Quality Golf International, based here, has contracted to be an international liaison for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) in Thailand and surrounding areas.

In his role, Taylor, 60, a certified golf course superintendent, will promote the programs, services and resources of GCSAA (www.gcsaa.org) and represent the association to help build membership and advance the superintendent profession in that region.

A graduate of Florida Gateway College where he majored in golf course operations, Taylor was employed for 15 years as a superintendent in the United States before relocating to Asia in 1993, to work with golf courses in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and other across the Asian region.

"I am delighted to have this new opportunity to promote GCSAA in the region and work to showcase the resources of the association for those in the superintendent profession," said Taylor, in his 21st year with Quality Golf International (www.qualitygolfasia.com) and his 24th as a member of GCSAA. "Being a GCSAA member has helped me immensely in my professional development over the years."

GCSAA has roughly 18,000 members in 78 countries, and in 2014 signed an agreement with the Asian Golf Industry Federation to supply education for conferences and professional events.
