The Country Club: Historical Icon

The U.S. Open 2022 marks the 122nd time this tournament is held, which will kick-off from June 16 to 19 at The Country Club, in Brookline, Massachusetts (USA). This will be the first time in more than 30 years that the U.S. Open will return to an important and historic golf course in the United States. The last time the U.S.Open took place at The Country Club was in 1988 when Curtis Strange defeated Nick Faldo in the playoffs to take the throne.

Going back in history, in 1913 and 1963, Francis Ouimet and Julius Boros won the U.S. Open championship at The Country Club after beating their opponents in the playoffs.

The Country Club used to organize many important events

The Country Club used to organize many important events, including the 1999 Ryder Cup. In that year, the US golf team defeated the European golf team with a score of 14½ - 13½ after being 6-10 behind before the final day of competition. The Country Club was also hosted the U.S. Amateur 2013, U.S. Women's Amateur 1995.
