Architect Brian Curley: “Courses of Distinction Begin with Vision.”
A LEGACY OF DESIGN EXCELLENCE ACROSS ASIA
Brian Curley’s work has earned multiple industry honors, including being named “Best Golf Course Architect in Asia” for seven consecutive years at the Asian Golf Awards, as well as GOLF Magazine’s “Architect of the Year.” He is also recognized by Golf Inc. as one of the most influential names in golf course architecture, with 10 courses featured in GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses in Asia-Pacific 2023.”

His experience across Asia includes the design of all 22 courses at Mission Hills in China, one of the world’s largest and most influential golf developments. “Brian Curley has performed at a peak professional level for us and we never consider looking to another firm for all of our courses,” says Mission Hills Chairman and C.E.O Dr. Ken Chu. “He and his team bring creativity from day one through opening that transcends the golf course alone, including the imagineering and master planning stages. Much of our enormous success can be attributed to his vision and contributions.”
Brian Curley’s recent work continues to expand internationally, highlighted by Shura Links in Saudi Arabia, part of Red Sea Global’s ambitious mega-project development. In Southeast Asia, notable courses include Dhoho Surya Golf Course in Indonesia and a second completed course at Chhun On Golf Resort in Cambodia.
EXPANDING FOOTPRINT IN VIETNAM AND BEYOND
In Vietnam, Brian Curley and his team have established a strong presence, including the master planning and design of all six FLC golf courses, as well as Stone Valley Golf & Resort outside Hanoi. These are complemented by projects across the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Mexico, alongside significant renovation work currently underway in the United States.
This growing body of work reflects a design philosophy grounded in responding to the land rather than applying a single, repeatable formula. Vietnam remains a defining part of Brian Curley’s evolution, with a number of significant projects in development on spectacular sites. With an office in Hanoi, expert services are easily and quickly rendered.

Brian Curley leads the design vision for a body of work shaped across Asia and other international destinations. He continues to work closely with Senior Golf Architect Jim Wagner throughout the design and construction process, ensuring a direct connection between concept, site and execution. “Our goal is not just happy golfers, but successful projects as well, and that is reflected in our unmatched number of repeat clients over many years,” says Brian Curley.
Across every landscape and condition, the objective remains consistent: to create golf that belongs to its setting and stands the test of time.
