Check out the young Vietnamese golfers named in the world rankings

Currently, most of the amateur tournaments organized by the Vietnam Golf Association have been recognized by the R&A and received ranking points on WAGR.

After a successful 2022 season, Vietnam has had more young golfers registered on the World Amateur Ranking (WAGR). This is an important step for our young generation to have the opportunity to participate in world tournaments such as Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, The Amateur Championship, or U.S. Amateur Open.

Currently, most amateur tournaments organized by the Vietnam Golf Association have been recognized by the R&A and received ranking points on WAGR, such as the Vietnam Open Women's Amateur Championship (VAO - VLAO), Vietnam Youth Open Championship (VJO), National Fighting Championship (VMC)...

Nguyen Anh Minh (2007) - No. 300

Nguyen Anh Minh is currently the highest ranked golfer in Vietnam on WAGR.

Having been named on the chart since January 2022 after finishing first in the SEA Games 31 qualifying round with the rank of 4676, the 15-year-old golfer has made rapid advancement thanks to a series of impressive achievements during the season such as two victories at VGA Tour, VJO championship, T-6 Men's Individual at 31st SEA Games… Nguyen Anh Minh is currently the highest ranked golfer in Vietnam on WAGR.

Within 8 months, Anh Minh rose to top 115, becoming the first Vietnamese golfer to be in the Top 200 best amateur golfers.

At the end of 2022, Anh Minh is ranked 300th.

Le Khanh Hung (2008) - No. 726

The T-2 at the Lexus Challenge helped Le Khanh Hung to be named on the WAGR at top 4512.

After 5 times reaching the Top 10 in domestic tournaments, including the Vietnam Matchplay Championship and most recently the 5th place of TrustGolf Singapore Junior Masters 2022, Le Khanh Hung finished 2022 at 726th place on the WAGR.

Hanako Kawasaki (1999) - No. 876

The mixed blood Vietnamese-Japanese golfer is considered as a rare gem in the Vietnamese golf. Despite her young age, the 23-year-old girl has achieved a series of remarkable achievements at the national and international level. Hanako is the female golfer who holds the most National Championship titles in Vietnam (7 times), holds the record for the number of negative strokes in a round of the national tournament.

Hanako is the Vietnamese golfer with the highest ranking in the world amateur women's golf rankings. Besides, she also owns many good achievements and prestigious championships in the US. So far, Hanako is the first and only Vietnamese golfer to be honored to participate in the US Amateur Women's Open tournament.

In 2022 Hanako will not participate in golf competitions but focus on studying. In June, 2022, she excellently graduated from Boston University (USA) with an excellent degree in Hospitality Administration and a good degree in Business Administration.

Doan Xuan Khue Minh (2003) - No. 934 

Doan Xuan Khue Minh is one of the rare Vietnamese female golfers on the WAGR. In 2022, the 19-year-old girl is the mainstay of the Vietnamese golf team at the 31st SEA Games. Khue Minh has achieved many achievements in junior tournaments such as Hanoi Junior Tour, VJO, VGM Junior Trophy.

In 2019, Khue Minh won the National Amateur Golf Championship (VMC) and made his name on the WAGR chart for the first time. Khue Minh ended 2022 with 934th place on the WAGR.

Nguyen Dang Minh (2005) - No. 2040

2022 is a not-so-prominent competition year for Nguyen Dang Minh when this golfer's best achievement is 5th at the DSE Vietnam Open and the National Fighting Championship.

In September, Dang Minh ranked 1855 but after not cutting through the Asia - Pacific Amateur Championship and Malaysian Amateur Open, Dang Minh finished last season at 2040th position.

Le Chuc An (2008) - No. 2539

Le Chuc An is a potential young golfer and is expected to succeed seniors such as Nguyen Thao My, Hanako Kawasaki and Doan Xuan Khue Minh, becoming excellent golfers to bring Vietnamese golf to shorten the gap in the international arena in the future.

Only 5 years into golf, this young golfer has achieved many achievements with a collection of nearly 30 trophies in many tournaments. Especially, the 2022 National Golf Tournament Champion competes for the T99 Cup and the Women's Team Medal at the 2022 National Sports Congress.

Nguyen Quang Tri (2004) - No. 3799

Nguyen Quang Tri is Vietnam's newest golfer to be listed on WAGR after he finished the DNSE Vietnam Open in 2nd place.

Starting at 4316, after winning 3rd in the Men's National Championship, Quang Tri rose to 3976. Quang Tri finished 2022 at 3799 after taking runner-up at the Tasmanian Amateur Championship.
