After an hour's drive from downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards 2026 Judging Panel arrived at Vinpearl Golf Léman, the final stop of this year's nationwide course evaluation journey. From the moment they stepped onto the property, the judges were greeted by an open landscape featuring gentle terrain and expansive sightlines. While the course's landscaping is still maturing, its master plan suggests a dramatically different appearance in the coming years, as growing trees and vegetation will gradually introduce more shade and create smoother transitions between holes.

Designed in a parkland style with a country club atmosphere, Vinpearl Golf Léman takes advantage of its relatively flat site to deliver a strategically engaging layout. More than 200 bunkers are carefully positioned throughout the course, complemented by undulating fairways, lakes and sandy waste areas that encourage a variety of playing strategies from hole to hole.

The judging panel noted that both the greens and their approach areas provide multiple shot options, rewarding thoughtful positioning rather than simply favouring distance. Another distinctive feature is the incorporation of several classic template holes inspired by world-renowned golf architecture, including the Dell, Biarritz, Redan and Volcano concepts, offering architecture enthusiasts a familiar yet refreshing playing experience.

Beyond the golf course itself, the Indochine-inspired clubhouse also left a strong impression. Its spacious lobby and grand banquet hall, capable of accommodating thousands of guests, provide an ideal venue for tournaments, conferences and large-scale events. This facility is expected to play an important role in supporting the club's ambitions to develop golf tourism, MICE activities and community engagement.

According to one member of the International Judging Panel: "Vinpearl Golf Léman has a solid golfing foundation, with a well-planned routing and a green complex that offers enough variety to create an enjoyable round. However, the long-term success of the project will depend not only on its course design but also on its overall vision, attention to detail, hospitality standards and operational excellence. As the landscaping matures and the service experience continues to evolve, the course has every opportunity to establish its own identity and fully realise its potential."

Concluding the visit, the judging panel recognised Vinpearl Golf Léman as a project that is still shaping its identity. Backed by a cohesive master plan, a thoughtfully designed golf course and considerable room for landscape development, it has the potential to become an attractive new golfing destination for players in Southern Vietnam.
