[Southern region] Record of nearly 20 golf courses participating in Vietnam Caddies Championship 2022 09:00, 15/09/2022

Caddies’ Festival 

On September 12, 2022, in sunny day, amid the bonny waving winds, crepuscular visions evaporated into white and brilliant cloud on Tan Son Nhat Golf Course, the Vietnam Caddies Championship 2022 was held extremely excitedly and excitingly with the participation of nearly 138 caddies from about 20 golf courses, golf training courses, golf academies throughout the South region.

“After 2 years of hiatus due to covid, once again, Vietnam Golf & Leisure Magazine is elated to host this tournament for caddies – the largest and most motivated workforce in the Vietnam golf industry. We hope to find talented faces and help you develop your career opportunities.”

The special thing about this year's tournament is that the number of golf courses participating in the tournament has increased significantly (nearly 20 golf courses) and the number of female golfers is also much larger than in previous seasons. The golfers compete with high teamwork, skillful playing technique with fast speed. After 4 hours of competition, the official round ended and the Gala Dinner took place in the banquet room of Tan Son Nhat Golf Course. 

In the bright light of the auditorium, the music and self-composed performances of the golf courses were enthusiastic, bringing an atmosphere of joy, solidarity, and the spirit of communication among caddies. 

The Best Gross prize belongs to Nguyen Van Thuong (caddie from Long Thanh Golf Course) with a total score of 76 (+4) strokes. This achievement brought him many valuable rewards such as Championship Cup, Honma Bezeal club, club bag, clothing set and especially a valuable golf coach training scholarship from 72+ Golf Academy.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Vietnam Golf & Leisure for organizing such a quality and prestigious tournament for caddies so that we have the opportunity to compete, exchange and learn from each other. I would also like to thank the sponsors who have given me and other caddies many valuable rewards. I look forward to having the opportunity to participate in the next seasons”, Caddie Nguyen Van Thuong shared. 

Besides, Tan Son Nhat Golf Course won the Best Caddie Team with a team of skillful caddies who showed outstanding performances. This is the third time Tan Son Nhat Caddie Team claimed this title.

Long Thanh Golf Course won the Best Caddies Uniform title with their beautiful light purple outfits.

Golden opportunities for Caddies

The Vietnam Caddies Championships 2022 once again clearly shows humanity and the great goals that the organizers aim at is to honor the profession of Caddies, grateful for  the dedicated service of Caddies to golfers all year round, and find golf talent to develop professional golf in Vietnam.

Not only being honored with trophies and awards, high-achieving caddies also have the opportunity to receive vocational training scholarships to become professional golf coaches or to compete with high performance. In addition, with individual efforts, caddies can completely rise to high positions in the profession at golf courses that currently lack human resources.

As a role model in the profession from caddies, Ms. Nguyen Huong Que - Director of Dai Lai Golf Course shared: “As a companion of the event for 4 seasons, I am very happy here tonight. My starting point is also a caddy and have been with golf for nearly 20 years, going through all the positions in the golf course before becoming the Sales Director of Dai Lai Golf Course. Hopefully after this tournament, in addition to continuing to serve our customers, we will nurture the fire of passion for the profession to step by step progress in the future, and make the country's golf industry more and more developed”.
