T99 VGA Tour Championship round 3: Truong Chi Quan excelled in scoring 7 birdies

Golfer born in 1998 had an ecstasy day at Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort, rising to 2nd place in the leaderboard.

Truong Chi Quan ended the second day of the T99 VGA Tour Championship 2022 with a record of 73 strokes +1, ranked 5th on the rankings. In the 3rd round, today, the 24-year-old golfer had a spectacular comeback when he rose to 2nd place with a record of 69 strokes -3.

After the first 10 holes, Truong Chi Quan only got 1 bogey but scored 6 birdies. In the last 8 holes he got 3 bogeys in a row at holes 12, 14 and 16. Then Chi Quan added a birdie point on hole 18, closing a great day for him.

After the 3rd round, Joel Troy continued to maintain the leading position with a record of 69 strokes -3, bringing the total score after 3 rounds to -7. The gap is quite far from Truong Chi Quan in 2nd place with a total score of +5 after 3 rounds. The Australian golfer scored 5 birdies and got 3 bogeys in round 3.

Park Jung Min - the golfer who ranked 2nd after the 2nd round had a bad day when he got 8 bogeys in a row, only scored 1 birdie and dropped to 3rd place on the leaderboard.

After the advantage of the 3rd round, Joel Troy is facing a great opportunity to win the 2nd title of the year, as well as receive the VGA Tour's record reward for the champion worth 500 million VND.

2022 seems to be a very lucky year for the Australian guy. He has achieved many consecutive successes at major tournaments under the VGA Tour system such as Lexus Challenge, DNSE Vietnam Open 2022. Especially the championship at DNSE Vietnam Open 2022.
