Nguyen Trong Hoang and Nguyen Viet Gia Han won the tournament in Malaysia
Palm Resort Junior Open Golf Championship 2022 was held at Palm Resort Golf & Country Club, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The tournament brings together 91 young golfers from many countries and ages to compete from December 21 to 23, 2022.
With a 3-day result of 78 - 77 - 76, Nguyen Trong Hoang finished first in Group U12 with a total score of 232 (+16), 5 strokes more than the second ranked Malaysian golfer. Nguyen Viet Gia Han finished second in the U12 Women's group with a result of 83 – 82 – 79 (+28) strokes.
Since the end of September until now, young Vietnamese golfers regularly attend youth tournaments in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia to exchange and learn with international friends.
In 2022, Nguyen Trong Hoang got his first national title when he won the Youth group of the National Fighting Tournament. Meanwhile, at the age of 11 Nguyen Viet Gia Han became the youngest golfer to participate in a professional tournament in Vietnam, when he competed in the Vietnam National Championship - VinFast Cup.
