Johnson closed with a 4-under 66 to overtake 54-hole co-leader Jason Day and win the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday. Here's how things unfolded at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
Final leaderboard: D. Johnson (-6), Scott Piercy (-5), Jordan Spieth (-3), Matt Kuchar (-3), Kevin Chappell (-3), Day (-3).

What it means: Get used to it - any talk of a "Big Whatever" is going to have to include DJ, who now has won his last two starts. This was Johnson's third World Golf Championship title, adding to his wins in the 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions and 2015 WGC-Cadillac Championship. He also moved to the top of the FedEx Cup standings.

Round of the day: Zach Johnson had the day's low score, 65, but DJ's 66 was far more significant. Three behind 54-hole co-leaders Day and Piercy to start the final round, DJ made the turn in 2-under 33, then made back-to-back birdies at 13 and 14, plus another one at 17. He bogeyed the 18th, but Day was having even worse issues at the time, making a double bogey at 16.
Best of the rest: Zach Johnson's 65 featured four birdies and a bogey on the front, three birdies and a bogey on the back. He finished with a birdie on Firestone's tough 18th hole.

Biggest disappointment: Had to be Day, who had converted each of the last five times he had held at least a share of the 54-hole lead. He wasn't quite "Mr. Havercamp" of Caddyshack fame, as he described himself Saturday, but he wasn't exactly Ty "Be the ball" Webb, either. Day's last birdie came at the 10th hole, and he finished bogey-double bogey-par-bogey.
Shot of the day: Day's chip-in for eagle at the second was looking good for this category, but in the end, it paled against DJ's 16-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole.
Quote of the day: "I feel like my game is where it has been all year. I just haven't been putting quite as well as I'd like. The last couple of weeks, I just putted a little better.'' - Johnson.
