20 Years of Vietnam Golf & Leisure: Honoring the Legacy, Shaping the Future
A Warm and Connected Atmosphere
From the early morning, Long Bien Golf Course was adorned with a special look to welcome the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Vietnam Golf & Leisure. Right from the clubhouse lobby, guests were immersed in an elegant setting highlighted by unique features: a vibrant check-in photobooth where golfers, partners, and attendees captured memorable moments against the backdrop “Legacy to Vision”; an exhibition of magazine covers spanning two decades, thoughtfully displayed to narrate the journey of Vietnam Golf & Leisure from its early days to the present; and refined souvenirs—magazines, water tumblers, and keychains bearing the 20th anniversary mark—carefully prepared to offer a complete experience for participants. Altogether, these details created an atmosphere that was both dignified and welcoming.
Intellectual Highlights in Vietnam’s 20-Year Golf Journey
The centerpiece of the Vietnam Golf & Leisure 20th Anniversary Celebration was the Talk Show “Legacy to Vision – Crafting Tomorrow”, which brought together more than 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from Vietnam’s tourism and golf authorities, leading domestic and international golf experts, investors, and executives of golf courses nationwide.
The talk show was moderated by Mr. Nguyễn Thái Dương – Founder of 72+ and Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA). At the opening of the program, Ms. Vũ Vân Yến – Director of Vietnam Golf & Leisure – reflected on the 20-year journey of accompanying the growth of golf in Vietnam. She emphasized the magazine’s role not only as a media publication but also as a bridge of knowledge, contributing to building a golf community that is increasingly professional, modern, and globally connected.
Mr. Rishi Narain – representing the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) – shared insights on sustainable development and golf tourism. He highlighted Vietnam’s vast potential to become a leading golf destination in the region, provided that the country focuses on green technologies, environmental conservation, and integrating golf with sports tourism.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ben Styles – CEO of 54 – revisited memorable milestones of Vietnam’s golf journey over the past two decades. He underscored the rapid development of the country’s golf workforce and expressed strong confidence in a promising future as Vietnam continues to establish its position on the Asian golf map.
In the second part, the talk show delved into the theme “Green Golf and Sustainable Development.”
Mr. Trần Ngọc Hải – Vice Chairman and CEO of Long Bien Investment JSC – shared about the efforts to pursue sustainability at a golf course located right in the heart of the city. He emphasized that implementing environmentally friendly management solutions not only reduces costs but also builds a positive image within the community.

Mr. Cameron Thompson – of Thompson Golf Management – presented on the growing trend of applying golf agronomy technologies to conserve water, minimize chemical use, and optimize course maintenance. Drawing from successful international models, he affirmed that this is an inevitable direction for Vietnam’s golf industry over the next 5–10 years.

Commemorative Golf Tournament – Where the Spirit of Sports Shines
The “20th Anniversary Golf & Leisure Tournament” brought together many distinguished golfers such as Trương Chí Quân, Hoàng PING, along with valued partners and guests. The competition was played under the System 36 format, with a total prize pool exceeding 3 billion VND, generously sponsored by D&G Golf Group, Global Golf Travel, Focus Group, Garmin, Honma, Ryoma, and others.
Powerful swings, precise putts, and the thrilling moment of a simultaneous shotgun start created an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie, truly spreading the sporting spirit across the course.
Gala Dinner “Timeless Legacy”: Gratitude & Recognition
The anniversary day concluded with an elegant yet cozy Gala Dinner at Long Bien Palace. Guests enjoyed Vgreen welcome drinks, craft beer, and soothing live music before stepping into the ballroom.
A touching video chronicling the 20-year journey of Vietnam Golf & Leisure was screened, showcasing images from the magazine’s earliest days to its pioneering role today.
