AGIF opens Certificate in GreenKeeping course

The Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) launched the Certificate in GreenKeeping (CIG) program in Vietnam last year. From September 18-22, the course will be opened to continue providing the necessary knowledge and certification for students.

The course is designed specifically for golf course staff who have not received formal training in the knowledge and skills necessary to operate safely and effectively as a security guard. lawn maintenance. CIG trainees are those who are undertaking a job or want to become a manager or assistant manager, have at least 2 years of experience in turf or are a sports field maintenance worker. . In addition, the target audience can be managers, consultants at work, or those who support experts and trainers of the program in implementing actual workplace training.

With support from The R&A, the specific goal of CIG has always been to enhance the expertise of green-keepers and provide an educational framework for the golf greening industry in the region.

Since its launch in 2018, CIG courses have been held in Malaysia and Thailand. To date, the courses have attracted students from Cambodia, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand with 18 individuals completing the program. Currently, 31 people are doing the part and another 30 are waiting for registration.

Henry Ng from Sustane Natural Fertilizers and Profile Products' James Gordon, a member of the Education Committee of AGIF, which oversees the implementation of the CIG program, said: “From day one, AGIF and its partners We had the intention of bringing the program into as many countries as possible.
