Just like what the Director of the tournament - Chokchai Boonprasert confirmed at the press conference about the challenge of Nicklaus Course of BRG Danang Golf Resort, on the first day of competition, 115 golfers had the opportunity challenge their ability to play in extremely tricky places where the flags are planted close to the edge of the green and only 15 players scored negative strokes after 18 holes. And Thai golfer Tawit Polthai is a golfer with the most excellent performance.

Tawit Polthai had a very favorable start when he scored 2 consecutive birdies in the first 2 holes, then he continued to get 4 birdies from hole 10-14 to take the lead with a total score of -5 strokes. On the 17th hole, although he had a mistake that caused the ball to fall into the water, it cost him a bogey, but that wasn't enough to make him lose his top spot on the leaderboard.

Perhaps for Polthai, this is a very positive signal because in this season, the golfer ranked 1376 on the OWGR once finished 3rd at Laguna Phuket Cup in May and T10 at Indo Masters Golf Invitational Presented TNE at the end of June.

However, Guxin's round was more prominent as he scored 4 birdies and only suffered a single bogey. Currently, Guxin is the 2nd golfer on this year's ADT money earned ranking.

For Vietnamese golfers, the best performance on the first day of competition belonged to Truong Chi Quan ranked Top 8 with -2 strokes. After 18 holes of golf, he scored 3 birdies and 1 bogey.

Tomorrow, the second round of the BRG Open Golf Championship promises to continue to be more dramatic when only 50 golfers with the best performance or a tie will win the spot to compete in the final round.
