Xander Schauffele captures Genesis Scottish Open for third consecutive victory

On Tuesday, he captured the JP McManus Pro-Am in Ireland. Come Sunday, it was his turn to hoist yet another trophy.

The Genesis Scottish Open 2022 is the first event marking the strategic alliance between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour. This is a tournament co-organized by 2 tours and participating golfers will be counted on both the DP World Tour and FedExCup rankings.

Xander Schauffele is officially on a heater

Not a golfer with the most impressive start, but the more Xander Schauffele plays, the more he shows his bravery and stable performance.

Schauffele played brilliantly on the back nine at the Renaissance Club to capture the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open. He shot an even-par 70 during the final round to win his seventh PGA Tour title, finishing at 7 under for the week.

It’s also Schauffele’s second consecutive professional win after he claimed the Travelers Championship two weeks ago in Connecticut. He’s the first golfer to win consecutive starts on the PGA Tour since Scottie Scheffler won the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and the Masters.

The Genesis Scottish Open 2022 championship is Xander Schauffele's first Rolex Series title. This victory brought the American star 500 FedExCup points and $ 1.4 million in prize money. This is Xander Schauffele's 3rd consecutive win in 3 consecutive weeks after winning the Travelers Championship and JP McManus Pro-Am.

Kurt Kitayama finished solo second, his second runner-up of the season, after a 4-under round of 66, one shot behind Schauffele. J.H. Kim, a 20-year-old from South Korea, finished in third, his best career result on the PGA Tour.

Now, Schauffele, searching for his first major victory, heads to St. Andrews for the 2022 Open Championship as the hottest golfer in the world.
