After departing Trang An Golf & Resort in the early afternoon, the panel reached Legend Valley Country Club following a little over an hour's drive. Lunch at the clubhouse marked the beginning of their exploration of the Rose Course, an 18-hole parkland layout where water features weave seamlessly through the design. Beyond creating expansive vistas, the lakes serve as strategic hazards, demanding thoughtful club selection and precise decision-making, particularly on approach shots into the greens.
One of the Rose Course's greatest strengths is its versatility. The layout is welcoming enough to inspire confidence from the tee while remaining strategically engaging, ensuring that every decision carries weight. This balance creates an enjoyable challenge rather than an intimidating test, encouraging golfers to embrace each hole with anticipation.
According to Sang Jun Oh, International Judge of the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards 2026, the course reveals a different character when played from the back tees. Several par 4s on the inward nine, particularly the 10th and 13th holes, demand considerable length, while the combination of water hazards and well-positioned bunkers rewards thoughtful course management over sheer power.

Beyond its layout, the conditioning of the course also received high praise from the judging panel. The Bermuda greens were consistently maintained, offering true, reliable roll and excellent putting conditions. Mark Siegel, Managing Director of Golfasian, was particularly impressed, describing the greens as having "rolled beautifully"—a reflection not only of meticulous maintenance standards but also of the overall quality of the playing experience.
The experience at Legend Valley extends well beyond the 18th green. Just steps from the clubhouse, the on-site hotel overlooks the fairways and the distinctive limestone landscape of Ha Nam Province. Without the need for additional travel after a round, golfers can easily return to their rooms, unwind in peaceful surroundings, or relax at the clubhouse while watching the final groups finish against a dramatic natural backdrop.
It was this seamless integration that left a lasting impression on Mark Siegel. "From the moment I arrived, I could tell that Legend Valley has been designed with the golf resort experience in mind. With the hotel overlooking the course and everything within easy reach, it is an ideal destination for a Stay & Play getaway."
During the visit, the judging panel also explored Legend Valley's long-term development plans, particularly Canyon Course, a new layout currently under construction that is set to become one of the property's defining attractions by embracing one of Vietnam's rare canyon-style landscapes.
Rather than reshaping the terrain to fit the golf course, the design preserves much of the existing limestone formations and natural valleys, allowing holes to wind through towering rock faces, open lakes and dramatic elevation changes across the Bat Canh Son landscape. Each hole has been carefully crafted to make golfers feel as though they are playing through a spectacular geological wonder, creating both memorable visuals and compelling strategic challenges. Once completed, Canyon Course is expected to further strengthen Legend Valley's appeal as a multi-day golf resort destination.
As the second day of the survey came to a close, the judging panel departed with more than just positive impressions of a well-presented golf course. From the strategic design of the Rose Course and the convenience of its integrated accommodation to the exciting potential of Canyon Course, Legend Valley is steadily establishing itself as a destination where golf and resort living come together in one seamless experience, inviting golfers to stay longer and fully immerse themselves in both the game and the surrounding natural landscape.
