KN Golf Links Cam Ranh – Nature’s Ultimate Creation

KN Golf Links Cam Ranh is a Greg Norman-designed signature  course. It’s one of only a handful  of links courses in Asia and is part of a mega-project. It includes eight kilometers  of prime oceanfront land along the East Sea, dominated  by spectacular  white sand-dunes and long gently curving coastline. The course is just five minutes from Cam Ranh International Airport and 20 minutes from the Nha Trang downtown.

Hole #16The layout is devoid of trees and resembles a links course in Scotland rather than Asia. There are some natural  shrubbery and native grass - that’s all! Meticulously manicured  Zoysia turf on the fairways  provides a beautiful contrast with the white sandy beach and blue waters of the East Sea. Greens are grassed with Tiff-Eagle Bermuda turf.

Playability was another factor that went into the design because the links course represents the original  style of golf. KN plays as a links because there’s a lot of up and down and natural  contouring. Run- off areas feature on most holes which adds to the strategy. Also, being near the sea, wind speed and direction provides constant challenges with the more elevated holes affected  the most when the wind’s up.

Professionally  managed by IMG, KN Golf Links Cam Ranh runs like clockwork and offers five-star  service. The well- equipped clubhouse provides spectacular  panoramic  views of the surrounding  landscape and out over Cam Ranh Bay itself. Masterplanned as part of the KN Paradise development which is billed to feature golf courses and clubhouse, multiple  hotels, entertainment areas, a marina,  a theme park, and villas.

HOLE 9 : PAR 4 - SHARK 471, GOLD 453, BLUE 415, WHITE 390, RED 360

This long par 4 is flanked on the right by an impressive and intimidating dune which is defiantly a no go zone. So aim to the left of the fairway to avoid this and the bunker which merges into the dune. The longer hitters may be a little more aggressive with their line and go for the longer carry, the reward if successful is a landing area which will afford you with some extra distance as the slopes push your drive down into the gully and towards the green. An inviting second shot against the back drop of the clubhouse awaits, but club selection is crucial as the elevation change can be deceiving.

HOLE 15: PAR 4  - SHARK 386, GOLD 369, BLUE 350, WHITE 327, RED 302

Hole #1

A beautiful downhill par 4 lined down the left side with an impressive waste bunker provides probably the most stunning backdrop on the course. So, take a moment to relax and enjoy it. A well struck drive down the right side towards the bunker will set up an inviting second shot to the green. However, take care with the club selection to the tee. Take account of the drop in elevation from the tee, longer hitters may opt for a club other than the driver.
