Korean golfer caught cheating at LPGA Tour

Despite being called and denounced by the audience, there was a video recording clear evidence, but this golfer still refused to accept the 2-stroke penalty and withdrew from the tournament.

At the Canada Pacific Women's Open event of the LPGA Tour, Korean golfer Chella Choi was caught cheating while playing. She moved her ball about an inch from its original position on the green. Her entire cheating process was recorded by live camera.

The video shows Choi making a putt on the 10th hole, the ball rolling to the right of the hole in an arc and stopping a short distance from the crater. After marking, she picked up the ball and placed it to the left of the marker, about an inch away. A TV viewer discovered this fraud and called to report it.

The LPGA's referees then spoke up: "Chella Choi lifted her ball and put it back in the wrong position where it was lifted. It is a violation of Rule 16-1b, the player incurs a two-stroke penalty if he does not correct the error before making a stroke (Rule 20-6)".

However, when faced with overwhelming evidence, Choi refused to accept the 2-stroke penalty and withdrew from the tournament instead. This has made many people angry and stoned the unsportsmanlike action of the Korean female golfer.

Youtube user Ray Bowles commented: "It's shameless. If you cheated once, you've probably cheated before. The fact that she didn't accept the punishment and gave up speaks for itself."
