AGTC 2027: Putting Vietnam Golf on the Itinerary of International Travelers
The 13th edition of AGTC will take place from April 5–7, 2027, at IOI Resort City in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Organized by IAGTO, the convention connects golf courses, golf resorts, hotels, destination management companies (DMCs) and destinations with a network of golf tour operators who actively develop and sell golf travel packages across international markets.
For Vietnamese businesses seeking to grow inbound golf tourism, AGTC is more than an event to simply attend. Its greater value lies in meeting the people who can help bring their products into real, marketable golf travel programs.

Meet the People Who Sell Golf Holidays
AGTC 2026 in Pattaya brought together 462 delegates from 44 countries, including 170 international golf tour operators meeting with 172 suppliers and organizations. These figures highlight what sets AGTC apart: it is not a general travel trade show, but a B2B platform focused on a highly specific market - golf tourism.
For a golf course, a meeting might begin with practical questions: Which source markets are the best fit? Which seasons are easiest to sell? How can tee times be arranged for groups? What pricing works for tour operators? And which destinations can be combined with the course to create a more attractive itinerary?
For hotels and resorts, the opportunity extends beyond room sales. Golf tour operators often consider the golfer’s entire experience, including breakfast schedules that accommodate early tee times, transfers, group services, length of stay, facilities for non-playing companions and the ability to combine several courses within one trip.
For DMCs and travel companies, AGTC offers an opportunity to present a complete product - from golf courses and accommodation to transportation, dining and local experiences rather than selling each service separately.
AGTC does not bring customers directly to your business. It brings your business to the people who can.

Up to 40 Appointments but the Right Connections Matter More
During the two official B2B days, businesses participating in the Supplier Package can have up to 40 pre-scheduled appointments with golf tour operators.
Unlike informal networking, AGTC uses an appointment system that allows suppliers to identify potential partners aligned with their business objectives before meetings are confirmed.
This is particularly valuable for Vietnamese businesses attending for the first time.
A golf course seeking to develop markets in South Korea, Australia or Europe does not necessarily need to meet every buyer. The priority is to identify companies already selling Southeast Asian destinations, serving the right customer segments and actively looking for new products.
Similarly, a resort developing golf packages needs to connect with partners whose customer profiles align with its product positioning and preferred length of stay.
A 15–20-minute meeting may not generate an immediate booking. However, these conversations can help businesses better understand how many nights international golfers prefer to stay, how many rounds they want to play, which price points are easier to sell, what makes an itinerary appealing and which barriers may prevent a product from competing effectively.
These insights can provide a valuable basis for refining products and commercial strategies after the convention.
AGTC 2027 Offers Greater Convenience for Vietnamese Businesses
One notable advantage of AGTC 2027 is that three nights of accommodation at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, from April 5–8, 2027, are included in the Supplier Package. The package covers single occupancy, breakfast and applicable taxes under the program.
Convention activities and B2B meetings will take place within the hotel area, allowing buyers and suppliers to gather in one location.
Networking therefore extends beyond scheduled appointments. Breakfasts, coffee breaks, the Welcome Reception and informal moments between meetings can all provide opportunities to continue conversations initiated at the B2B tables.

For IAGTO member businesses in Vietnam registering as a table-holding Supplier, AGTC 2027 also offers a complimentary second delegate pass, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
This can be particularly useful for businesses sending two representatives: one to present products and discuss commercial opportunities, and another to capture buyer requirements, build relationships and coordinate follow-up after the event.
A Day on the Course Before the B2B Meetings
The AGTC Golf Tournament is scheduled for April 5, 2027, ahead of the two official convention days, with a stated entry fee of USD 120 per person.
For the golf industry, the tournament offers more than a round of golf.

Four hours on the course can create a very different networking environment from a meeting across a B2B table. Informal conversations on the fairway, at the clubhouse or after the round can help buyers and suppliers get to know one another before the official appointment schedule begins.
For businesses looking to make the most of their trip, this is an activity worth considering.

Attending AGTC Is About More Than Being There
The effectiveness of AGTC depends heavily on preparation before the event begins. Businesses do not need to bring dozens of products. In many cases, it is more effective to focus on a few clear strengths: a distinctive golf package, a compelling experience, a target market or a specific commercial proposition that buyers can quickly understand and sell.
Businesses should also identify their priority buyer groups in advance rather than waiting until the convention to research potential partners. This is one reason Vietnam Golf & Leisure (VGL) encourages Vietnamese businesses to register for and prepare for AGTC through VGL.
As IAGTO’s exclusive and sole representative in Vietnam, VGL assists businesses in understanding the available participation options, completing registration procedures and preparing for the event.
Depending on each business’s needs, VGL can also provide guidance on which products to present at AGTC, help prepare introductory materials, identify priority buyer groups and advise on how to make more effective use of the B2B appointment schedule.
The objective is not simply to help businesses register for AGTC, but to help them arrive better prepared to do business.
In particular, businesses that complete registration through VGL before December 31, 2026, will be eligible for VGL’s promotional offer, which includes one PR article on the Vietnam Golf & Leisure website, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.
This also gives businesses an opportunity to begin promoting their products before the convention, allowing buyers and potential partners to learn more about their offerings ahead of meetings in Malaysia.
