Abraham Ancer outlasts Cameron Young to win 2023 PIF Saudi International

LIV Golfer Abraham Ancer defeated Cameron Young, the best rookie of the PGA Tour 2022, to the crown of Saudi International 2023 with a close lead of 2 strokes.

Abraham Ancer is the best name of Saudi International 2023 when he has always maintained the lead position for 4 rounds, crowned with a convincing wire-to-wire victory in the first tournament of the 2023 Asian Tour.

Entering the final round, Abraham Ancer and Cameron Young ranked first and second respectively with a close score of 2 strokes. After the first 7 holes, both shared the co-leading position when Young scored 4 birdies in a row at holes 2, 4, 5, 7 respectively; and Ancer only scored 2 birdies. Then two golfers competed directly for the championship.

In the back-nine, Young suddenly dropped in form when he got 2 bogeys and 1 double bogey on holes 8, 13 and 15, while only scoring 2 birdies on holes 16 and 18. Ancer got a bogey on the 9th hole then kept even par on the remaining holes.

The Mexican-American golfer completed the round and maintained a 2-stroke lead from Cameron Young. This victory brought Abraham Ancer his fourth career title, as well as his first on the Asian Tour. Currently, the 31-year-old golfer is a member competing at LIV Golf. With this victory Young added 24.42 points on the OWGR World Golf Ranking.

Third place at the tournament was Australian golfer Lucas Herbert with -15 strokes, one place ahead of Thai golfer Sadom Kaewkanjana with -14 strokes. Paul Casey finished 5th with -13 strokes.
