2017 VGA Union Cup: The “Ryder Cup” of Vietnam 12:00, 26/03/2017

The 2nd VGA Union Cup, held by Vietnam Golf Association from 24th - 26th March 2017 at FLC Samson Golf Links, Thanh Hoa province, has been finished successfully with the precious cup belonging to the defending champion - The North Team.

After the success of 2016 VGA Union Cup – the biggest and most expected golf tournament of Vietnam gathering best golfers around the country, two Southern and Northern teams had opportunity to rematch and compete for the championship trophy and offerred dramatic performance throughout 3 days of the tournament.

After 8 four-somes, 8 four-balls, and 12 single match, the victory run to the Northern teams with the final score of 16 (North team) – 12 (South team). Once again, captain Le Hung Nam and his teammates raised the trophy of a tournament that can be considered to be the biggest in Vietnam at this time.

VGA Union Cup 2017 is the second season belonging to VGA’s tournament system with golfers qualified from the North and South of Vietnam. The tournament follows the format of “Match Play” with 3 rounds of Foursomes, Four-ball and Single Match, which is similar to “Ryder Cup” and “President Cup” in the world.

FLC Group is the main sponsor of the tournament who provided most advantageous conditions in the organisation of the tournament.
