VAO 2017: Greogry Foo of Singapore wins the championship  

The Vietnam Amateur Open 2017 (VAO 2017) held by Vietnam Golf Association has closed up successfully with the precious trophy belonging to young talent Singapore golfer, Greogry Foo

The Vietnam Amateur Open 2017 (VAO 2017) held by Vietnam Golf Association has closed up successfully with the precious trophy belonging to young talent Singapore golfer, Greogry Foo, with gross 279 (-9) after four rounds of competition which sets the new record in the history of VAO tournament throughout 13 years.

Closing with gross 68 (par 72) in the final round, the 24-year-old Singapore golfer led all 4 rounds of the tournament and constantly breaking records on scores. Gregory Foo is a famous name in Singapore amateur golf since his junior years and has also been a member of Singapore golf team playing in the Sea game.

Second place is also a Singapore golfer, Joshua Shou, with a spectacular sprint in the final round with gross 68, equal to the winner Gregory Foo.

Five leading positions belong to foreigners. Ruperto Zaragosa III (Philippines), the champion of last year season, finished third with a (+4). Fifth place is Khachonkittisakul Varuth (Thailand) with a score of (+9). Leon Philip Dsouza (Hong Kong) is fifth with +11.

The Vietnamese VAO Champion belongs to Nguyen Hung Dung with a total of (+22). He surpassed Mai Duc Thuy (+26), who led the race after the third round with four - strokes lead over the second but could not maintain the advantage. Third is Nguyen Phuong Toan with a total of (+30).

Le Huu Giang wins PRO catagory with (+32). This is the second time he wins after his first VAO in 2015. Pham Minh Tuan runs the second with a total of (+35). Lai The Cuong came in third with a total of (+36).
