The number of golf courses and players grows very fast. The number of tourists coming to Vietnam to play golf is also on the rise and signaled to increase even faster in the coming years.

In order to prepare for the wave of golf tourism and promote strong golf destinations in Vietnam, Golf Tourism Association (VGTA) was established on March 29, 2019. This is a professional social organization gathering golf clubs, golf clubs, golf courses, golf operators and golf-resort complexes across the country to promote Vietnam golf destination and form golf tourism products, attracting visitors to Vietnam and cooperating with international golf tourism organizations.

VGTA is operating nationwide under the umbrella of the Vietnam Tourism Association and Vietnam Golf Association. With the number of golf courses currently nearly 60, it is expected that by 2020 there will be nearly 100 courses, the number of golf travel companies up to 50 units, the establishment of the Golf Tourism Association is significant that will support, connect important sources of golf travellers to Vietnam. In the national direction of focusing on the development of tourism, golf tourism plays an important role as a high-revenue and potential tourism channel.

VGTA is organized on the principle of financial autonomy, non-profit organization in the  compliance with the constitution and Vietnamese law.
