“Race To Sweden” - Journey to experience Northern Europe of Vietnamese golfers 03:41, 06/11/2022

The first destination we set foot on when arriving in the Nordic sky was Stockholm, Sweden. Only about 40 minutes drive from the center, we arrived at Fagelbro Golf & Country Club, one of the 5 most beautiful golf courses around Stockholm.

In Northern Europe, it is currently late autumn, the weather turns to winter, so most golf courses are closed after October 30 every year to better maintain the course. Due to the weather in this season, the temperature is quite deep, about 10 degrees during the day, sometimes down to 5 degrees in the evening, so the grass surface overnight will have a slight freezing condition, if people affect it, it will cause damage. broken and dead grass. However, the Vietnamese golf team is very lucky to still have the opportunity to experience this high-class golf course.

With a beautiful setting with old pine trees and winding old trees on Lake Vamfjarden leading from the Baltic Sea, Fagelbro Golf & Country Club is like a delicate symphony between the hilly landscape and vast views like breathtaking sea views. "Beautiful", that's 3 words we can say about the landscape here. Fagelbro is covered with greens from Bentgrass - the typical grass of the cold country that we often see in 3 golf courses. Thanks to that, we also experienced exciting rounds of golf with beautiful smooth grass and extremely challenging green speed. 

A special feature that the team experienced in Stockholm was that we had to do everything ourselves: pull the sticks, serve ourselves, rake the sand and fill the field with our own balls. With the cold climate and having to do the "caddy" for ourselves, those are memorable moments that we have never experienced after many years of "war" in Vietnam.

It can be said that completing the first 9 holes with stable results and health is one thing, but to conquer all 18 holes with difficult mountainous terrain of Fagelbro golf course, it takes determination and great effort.

In the following days of the "Race to Sweden" journey, the Vietnamese golf group had a trip to explore the capital Oslo, Norway, then set foot in Goteborg City - the capital of Volvo, "the cradle" " of the world's safest cars. The next day, we moved to Malmo - a city located in the South of Sweden, where the weather is warmer, to compete in the national final round here with the participation of Vietnamese golfers in Northern Europe.

Finally, the delegation will go to Copenhagen, Denmark to discover the land of the legendary Andersen fairy tales and experience the world famous 175-year-old Carlsberg beer production land in the world.

10 days, 4 countries and countless unforgettable memories - the "Race to Sweden" journey has given us new experiences and broadened our horizons.If given the opportunity, Vietnamese golfers should come here in around May to October, the most suitable time to experience and explore the golf courses and travel to the beautiful Nordic skies.
