Hole of the Month: Augusta National #13

Augusta National is world famous for its many impressive golf holes both in terms of natural beauty and challenge, in which it is impossible not to mention the 13th hole.
Painting: Artist Tom Lynch

An accurate tee shot to the center of the fairway on this sweeping dogleg left allows a player to go for the green in two. A tributary to Rae's Creek winds in front of the raised green, and four bunkers threaten behind. The Byron Nelson Bridge is located just off the tee. More discovered than designed, this hole was originally an open field. Virtually all that Alister MacKenzie had to do was to build a green on the far side of the stream. This beautiful and challenging hole is depicted in watercolor by talented artist Tom Lynch with over 30 years of experience in the field. He was also the first American to be honored as an honorary member of the Canadian Watercolor Society.
