The golf industry in Vietnam is experiencing strong growth, with a system of amateur and professional tournaments held throughout the year. Sharing his vision for the future, Mr. Vu Nguyen emphasized the importance of training young talents and further promoting the sport among women. Golf tourism has also become a focal point in Vietnam’s green tourism development strategy, combining sports with exploration, sightseeing, and relaxation. With its advantages in terrain, climate, and culture, Vietnam’s golf courses have great potential to attract tourists and host international tournaments, including Hoiana Shores Golf Club.
Taking place in March 2025, the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific championship has been developed by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and The R&A to nurture talent and provide a pathway for the region’s elite women amateurs to the international stage and the opportunity to play in three major championships. The winner will have the opportunity to compete in three major championships in 2025, including the AIG Women’s Open, the Amundi Evian Championship and the Chevron Championship. The championship has a history of producing golf stars, including the inaugural champion Atthaya Thitikul, who last year won the season – ending Tour Championship on the LPGA Tour. Hoiana Shores Golf Club is honored to be the venue for this prestigious championship, which is being held in Vietnam for the first time.
Dominic Wall, Regional Managing Director of The R&A, attended the media forum and remarked on Hoiana Shores Golf Club’s position as a premier golf destination. He highlighted the golf course’s excellent facilities and hospitality services, which ensure the success of world-class events.
