MONTGOMERIE LINKS MASTERS 2020 TOURNAMENT

Quang Nam, 13th June, 2020:  The Montgomerie Links Masters has concluded with the great pleasure and cheerfulness of all golfers.

The Masters - one of the 4 Majors is always an event that receives so much attention from golf lovers. Admiring the spirit of the professional golfers, the Club has chosen the name and image of the green jacket of The Masters as the main theme for the golf tournament. Fans of this original event in Central Vietnam can also put on a green jacket and become The Masters of Montgomerie Links Vietnam Golf Club.

After a careful course maintenance schedule, the tournament is highly anticipated by the golf community in the area. In addition, this year's event was accompanied by Gold sponsor - Vietcombank and gathered many other sponsors with attractive prize structure. Only after the first week of introduction, the list of participants has reached the maximum. The beautiful weather offered great chance for 144 members and guests of the Club to complete the 18 holes designed by the legendary Colin Montgomerie.

Mr Kim Chong Su, the member at Montgomerie Links became the Champion of the event with 77 Gross score. The Masters Champion has received many valuable prizes from our honor sponsors including Vietnam Airline, ECCO, especially the valuable package of accommodation, spa and F&B experience from Mai House Saigon.

One of the highlighted points of the tournament is the appliance of FlightScope to measure the distance at Hole #13 to find the winner for Longest Drive trophy. Through the visual effect on screen, golfers can understand their swing’s performance with the explanation of  British PGA – Michael Lane. Golfer Thai Duc Duy scored the Longest Drive at Hole #13 with 287 yards by his Driver. Cho In Sung and Steven Jahng received the 2nd and 3rd prizes from Golf Academy with distance 285 yards and 280 yards measured by FlightScope.

To offer an equal chance for all participants, 144 golfers were divided into 6 divisions by Handicap, genders and origins. Members of the Club with Handicap from 0 to 16 played under A Division. B Division and C Division were for Members with Handicap from 17 to 25 and 26 to 34. Guests with official Handicap were divided into the Guest Division. Members and guests without official Handicap also granted a chance to win the trophy in Callaway Division. Ladies Division was for female golfers with official Handicap.

Golfer Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Tran Dang Hai and To Van Dung won the first prizes in A, B and C Division. With a very good performance in the match, Mrs Trinh Bao Tram has won the Champion cup of Ladies Division (Gross 87 HDC 18 Net 69). Mr. Phan Trong Luyen not only scored the Nearest to the Pin at Hole #5 but also was the winner of Guest Division.

The image of the Champion Kim Chong Su – a member of the Club wearing the Green Jacket in the cheerfulness of all attendees was a special moment. With the principle of spreading sporty spirit and beautiful image of Golf, the club always wants to bring new ideas to its events for members in particular and the golf community in general. The Montgomerie Links Masters golf tournament was closed with joy and opened for an exciting summer promising many other interesting events.

In 2017, Montgomerie Link Vietnam has been proudly chosen to welcome 800 delegates to the welcome reception for APEC 2017 (CEO Summit). Montgomerie Links Viet has become the most golf tour destination attraction in the Best Golf Course in Central Coast Vietnam.
