Vietnam Tourism in 2016 to be on track of flourishing 12:00, 31/08/2016

For first eight months of 2016, Vietnam's tourism has had impressive growth, reflecting the recovery of tourism after more than one year of continuous decline, as well as many prominent tourist activities taking place in many provinces of Vietnam.

According to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in 8 months of 2016, the total number of foreign tourists visiting to Vietnam has reached 6,452,373 passengers, which increases 25.4% compared to the same period in 2015. Total number of domestic tourists are estimated at 43.1 million visitors. Total income from domestic tourists is estimated at 105 453 billion. Total revenues from tourists in 8 months of 2016 is estimated at 265 152 billion (including total export value and revenues from domestic tourists),rising 22.5% compared to the same period in 2015. It is forecasted that the growth rate of foreign tourists visiting to Vietnam in September, and October of 2016 can reduce because of the impact of seasonal factors, however, the target of 9 million visitors in 2016 is entirely feasible.

Besides, in August 2016, the Prime Minister of Vietnam signed Decision No. 1528/QD-TTg on approving the master plan on development of the national tourist zone in Hoa Binh reservoir, Hoa Binh province through 2030 with the goal that by 2030 Hoa Binh province will welcome 1,600,000 visitors (of which there are 90,000 foreign visitors) and total tourism revenue in 2030 will reach 1,800 billion.

A notable point of Vietnam Tourism in 8 months of 2016 are the record of many outstanding tourist activities in localities throughout the country, including:
Quang Binh: Establishment of the Department of tourism, increasing the total number of local tourism departments in Vietnam to 1o ones;
Da Nang: The Government approve to the policy of establishment of tourist police; Da Nang also have many major festivals in August including cocofest event, kite festival, and ABG5 in September;
Ha Noi: Uninstalling "Curfew", buiding up 1000 public toilets, installing free wifi served for tourists, with criteria no. 1 on "peaceful and friendly";
Khanh Hoa: Promulgation of codes of conduct for tourism activities;
Lam Dong: promulgate temporary regulations on the management of the kind of adventure tourism;
Ho Chi Minh City: Open river and rail tours
Quang Ninh: Strengthen inspection and tighten management of travel activities.
