Park Min-ji has won the DB Group Korea Women's Open 2021  

Seoul June 20: Park Min-ji of Korea won the DB Group Korea Women's Open 2021 on Sunday at the highly-rated Rainbow Hills Country Club with a winning total of 17-under-par 271 and a final round of two-under-par 70.

Park's winning in the DB Group Korea Women's Open, the first event of the newly formed Ladies Asian Tour (LAT) series hosted by the Asian Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF), marks her fifth of the 2021 KLPGA season and her first major championship.

Park Min-ji had a one-shot lead over Park Hyun-kyung at the start of the day, but she dropped two strokes on the third and fourth holes, and she lost her lead. Starting on the sixth hole, she made 3 successive birdies to reclaim the lead.

The two Parks were battling for the championship until the 18th hole, when Hyun Kyung's wayward tee shot fell in the rough, throwing the advantage to Min-ji. Min-ji's victory was completed with a closing birdie on the par-four 18th, while Hyun-kyung had to settle for a bogey.

Ladies Asian Tour (LAT) Series is a group of ladies' professional golf tournaments in Asia for Asian ladies’ golfers created by a coalition among sanctioning bodies in the region of Asia. The purpose of the Ladies Asian Tour (LAT) Series is to create Asian's own series by not interfering with sanctioning bodies in this region, but promote women's golf at a more competitive level in order to secure more fans on Ladies Asian Tour (LAT) series.

Asia Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF) is a non-profit corporation, led by four founders Mr. Jung-Tai Kim of Hana Financial Group, Mr. Gwang-Soo Hur of Korea Golf Association (KGA), Mr. Sang-Yeol Kim of Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), and Mr. Kenny Park of Simone. About Korea Golf Association 

Korea Golf Association (KGA) is a governing body of golf in Korea to organize three (3) national  open championships such as the Korea Open, the Korea Women's Open and the Korea Senior  Open as well as approximately 20 amateur events annually. The KGA was established in 1965,  

supported by a few golf clubs here in Korea. The KGA was an affiliate with a member of the Asia  Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) in 1965 and the International Golf Federation (IGF) in 1968.
